The following are excerpts from my prayer journals and some very crude illustrations of what I saw. Hope this blesses you.
My first known encounter with angels was in 1987. I had been praying in tongues in my home in K.C., KS, alone. And I started seeing a vision, like a dream while I prayed. I saw a little shinny dark tanned man sitting on the ground, in a dirt floor-type setting. As I prayed in tongues, I noticed he had on a white turban and a white loin cloth. No shirt. As he sat there, dirt bricks started to appear before him. Each brick appeared, one at a time, into each of his hands. As I prayed, I noticed that he was building a circular wall around him. Similar to a well. And as these bricks appeared, he would set them beside each other. And he just kept sitting there rotating around himself, building this wall. What was most remarkable was that the bricks appeared in direct correlation to how fast I prayed. And in the same manner, this turbaned man built the wall in direct correlation with how fast I prayed (all in tongues). In fact, after a while, I would stop just to see if he would stop. (And he did). Then I would speed up and slow down, just to prove the theory to myself. At one point, when I stopped in this testing of the theory, he looked directly into my eyes with exasperation. I knew exactly what he was thinking, even though he never spoke. And what he was communicating was "Will you get on with it? So I can work?" It was a very simple vision. But it has stuck with me for the past 23 years. And the lesson was this: When we pray in tongues, sometimes we are empowering angels to do their work. If we don't pray, they have no 'gas in their tanks – so to speak'. The angels have the job to do, but they are fueled by our prayers. It has helped me many many times since then. When no idea whatsoever of what I am saying, but the Lord will remind me I am empowering angels to do their work. A simple but very powerful lesson of warfare.
